French Quartier

Today was our first day exploring New Orleans, so what better way to do that than to go to the French Quartier?

It was really fun to see all the shop stands all together at the French Market and we even bought a gift for my niece: a name bracelet!

We also had a very yummy Sangria because it was very hot so we sure could use the refreshment😉

After all the shopping we were hungry and there's only 1 thing you HAVE to eat when in New Orleans: BEIGNETS!

And there's only 1 place to have the best beignets: Café du Monde!

And boy, they sure were delicious! Although, a bit heavy on the stomach though, especially because they serve you 3 beignets!

Here in Belgium, I always have beignets at the fun fair but we make them a lot lighter so we always have at least 5 beignets, and they're also shaped rounder and a lot smaller.

Then it was back to our hotel because it was way too hot to walk more so we needed to cool down and most of all: rest!
