Oak Alley Plantation + Swamp tour

Today was already our final day and we were lucky to book the one thing last night you just HAVE to do when you're in New Orleans: visiting a plantation and a swamp tour.

So today the tourbus got us to the Oak Alley plantation.

During our drive up to the plantation, our tour guide gave us a lot information about New Orleans and the plantations.

After about an hour we arrived at the Oak Alley plantation where we had a guided tour at 1PM. There were got a tour around the house of Jacques Roman and his wife and family who had several slaves on his property.

During the tour we saw all the rooms in the house and all their furniture and belongings in the house and we also learned more about their family.

After the guided tour we were free to walk around the property where all the slave houses were located where we learned everything about the slaves and how they lived and worked on the property.

After the Oak Alley plantation, it was time for the most exciting part of the day!

It was time to go to the swamp tour!

We got a lot of information about the swamps and even the locals of New Orleans!

We even saw a grave of one of the voodoo witches that is buried there in 1915.

It was so cool to see all the alligators in the swamp, even huge ones!

But the most exciting part was holding a baby alligator!

I thought the alligator would be bigger but it was just a teeny tiny alligator, really cute!

Funny thing is that the tour guide had closed its mouth with a hair band from his wife that he took that morning😂😂😂

It was so cool to hold that little baby and all my friends and family thought so too, they were even scared just to see me hold one😂

Unfortunately that was our final day in New Orleans but I'm so glad that we saved the best for last!

See ya'll tomorrow!

xoxo
