Today was already our final day here in Memphis so we made the most of it and went touring again!

First stop was the Sun Studios where a lot of famous musicians have recorded.

This is the studio where Elvis recorded his first music before he became famous.

But also B.B. King, Johny Cash and even Ike Turner have made records there.

And more recently: my idols Aly & AJ!

It was pretty cool to hear all those stories about how they recorded there and even how a single woman named Marion Keisker was responsible for letting Elvis record his first music when he came by the studio in 1953. Without her, we might've never heard of Elvis Presley!

After the Sun Studios we walked to Beale Street where we had lunch at B.B. King's Blues Club.

When our bellies were full, we went to the National Civil Rights museum aka the MLK museum.

That one was really heavy, emotional wise. To read and see the entire story about what the Afro Americans had to go through being slaves and treated like outsiders by all the white people....

Just horrible what we, white people, did to them!

I'm glad that these Afro Americans are no slaves anymore and are treated more equally then back then but there's still a long way to go because there's still way too much racism against them...

To end our day on a happy note, we went to see the ducks who live in the Peabody Hotel!

It's so funny how this tradition got started (all thanks to too many glasses of Tennessee Whiskey between two friends😉)

They march from the fountain into the elevator, up to their residency on top of the hotel, each day at 11AM and 5PM.

Since we had a full day already, we went to the 5PM show.

I was standing front row and after we got the whole story about how this all started, they wobbled out of the fountain and walked past us into the elevator.

They even stopped to pose for pictures every few inches so the entire audience was able to take lots of pictures and videos.

Sure was a fun way to end our Memphis vacation!

See ya'll tomorrow!

xoxo
