WWII + Civil War museum

Today was a full day walking around museums.

The first one was about WWII.

When we entered we saw all the vehicles that were used during the war.

Then we learned about all the Issei (Japanese Immigrants in the USA) and how the war in America started with the attack on Pearl Harbor. Even Japanese women fought along in the war.

Then we came to the biggest part: How Europe and America worked together in the War.

We all know the most part of the stories through all the movies that have been made and all the books that have been written.

But in this museum we get to read all the details and hear about it through testimonies from old veterans.

Really interesting!

Then we saw a detailed timeline of how it all started with Hitler and Mussolini and how they started the war.

When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, it meant that USA was also in war so they had to respond of course. It meant that the entire country had to unite in the fight against Hitler but that didn't look as united as we all thought.

Even though the Japanese and Afro Americans were able to join the military and fight along in the war, there were still racial minorities...

Because of the war, a lot of vehicles, artillerie and other merchandise had to be made. That's what we saw in the next exhibition.

Then we learned about the Marines and their role in the war.

After the war was over, it wasn't for the Japanase...

The whole war continued in Japan and Vietnam and that's what we learned about next.

Then we learned about all the "leaders" and alliances in the war.

Then we learned about the effects of the war in the rest of world like Africa, Sicily and Tunesia.

We spent a few hours in there because there was SO MUCH to see and we learned a lot more about WWII.

When we left I saw a very cool statue! The one of Anne Frank herself!

So of course I had to take a picture with her😉

After the WWII museum we crossed the street to go to the Civil War museum.

There we learned about the war between American citizens!

It was really interesting to learn more about it. We even saw a part about the Battle in Franklin, which my mom and I have already went to visit in 2014 when we stayed there with my US family.

When we left the museum, the owner gave us original dollars from that time so now I own two dollar bills from the Civil War. How cool is that!

It was a very busy day but also very educational and I'm happy to have learned so much more about both the Civil War and WWII.

See ya'll tomorrow for a very exciting day!

xoxo
